Birthday Wish for My friend

Happy Birthday Twinny

Dear Twinny,

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday!

Not that it has been your birthday, I thought to remind and remember the best of moments. But I truly think that over the years the way we have been able to transform, my each and every moment spent together has been special. It is one of the best feeling to have someone in life whom you can relate and someone who doesn't need to be explained everything and understands exactly the way the things, thoughts and beliefs need to be felt. You have been sure the one I can count on closing my eyes.

What truly surprises me the power I get thinking to know that you are always there for me present for me. It's funny that it is you birthday and I'm talking of thyself. The reason is that I feel blessed and to me you are the best gift I posses. The distance was and shall never be an issue I guess. Hence, it was always easy and comforting to bridge up my thoughts and other long talks with you.

All those silly talks of teletubbies, beating, hitting, falling over tangled playing in the playground, fighting only to care more,loving, hugging, planning mischief, supporting and fainting in school morning assemblies, that first cappuccino we had the hub in CCD, the Chinese lunch at NYC and also when I saw you on your wedding shimmering in gold and glitters, been the moments I share and heartily treasure.

Thank you for being the best memory of my childhood, where I love to move into the trail of comfort, joy and bliss.

Here is the snap of one of my page from my autobiography, written almost a decade ago, in Year2002 and interestingly on your birthday.

My life is happier because of you.
My heart is fuller because of you.
My soul feels wholesome because of you.
I'm a better person because of you.
I'm blessed to have you in my life!

Hope we get more such wonderful memories to cheer on, cherish and celebrate. May all the pieces of your puzzle fall perfectly into place, all your desires and dreams come true, putting you to see and enjoy the joyous future with a great companionship.

Here wishing you a very Happy Birthday Twinny!

Waterfall of Words - Birthday Wish

Seriously,I cannot Swim. ...Seriously!!
No Seriously, It's sad that I really cannot swim..Really?!

You are an artist and mermaid by nature. I appreciate, you are a great swimmer too, a true Aquarius trait I guess. I thought you should know that I cannot swim. And right now being seven oceans in between its difficult to be on time. But I can write this and all, only for you! Love You!

“Happy Birthday (30th January) my sweet B-Buddy, Madhulika Garg! (Happy Now! I mentioned your name too, after all it is all for you)
Celebrating YOU!

Take my hand,
Hold on tight,
Down I fall,
Trusting, falling backwards!
Immersing waves of memories
Hope bounce exuberance
Don't let go,
Don't you dare even try!
In the darkness
And in the lonely nights
Hobble ebb and walk
Hold on tight
Show me the light
In your eyes
Light to light my way
I know no swimming
I got no fins
Paddle my life
You are my mermaid
Don't let me sink...
Pull me up with your hands
Take me deep
Into your world of ocean
Sapphire blue as sky
Teach me strokes butterfly
A pebble skipping, hurdles dropped
Full force reverberating echoing surface
Before sinking
Well spring of words
Surf surging survival
Swell on the surface of stream
Flowing, filling lines
Finding treble voice
In murmurs whispers musing
Tides and waves
Shades and images
Beyond the mirrors
Cleansing soul
Caring a pearl in heart core
Thirst to be quenched,
Cupped a cheers in joy
Spirit in few dew drops of desires
Floating over shallow fears
Dive deeper into dreams
I tried swimming once.
At least I tried.

I don’t know if it counts,
But if it hasn’t,
I can try back again
Kicking my legs up and down,
Syncing and making waves back forth and froth.
But I tried matching your wave-length
Slowing down and throwing off my rhythm
If it still not looks bright
What matters, at least I tried!
I wish my humble soul
Returns like a free bird
Chanting out for shower
Drizzle upon the shore
Sprinkle sweetness
Ahead the rocks placed right
Keeping you strong and rocking
Hours sitting would feel like a while
Marvel the milestones
Drenched in your handful of hue ideas
Feathers touching water
And then spreading
Smiles upon the water ripples
Get me back my wings
Waving in the wind, I wonder
I loved being with you
Under the ocean-bed
Carpeted with shells
Right now I rise high,
Teach me how to fly and sing
Sway in the breeze
Reaching the sky
Help me to try and glide..
After all, Grapes are sour,
The water for me was just too cold!

The picture is taken from the movie, 'Zindagi na milegi Dobara' featuring Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan.

No Numerology

Rachi Creations LOGO
~ rachi creations.. (LOGO) ~
Not many people know but I have a huge fascination with numbers.
Yeah many a time I have been adding and subtracting numbers to find some co-incidents and co-existence in numbers. Come on! Friends don’t mistake it as numerology. Nope this is no numerology or Algebra…it is just having some fun.

Like for example:
~ My name is RACHANA SHAKYAWAR
~ I have 7 letters in my first name and 9 letters in my surname…
+ Interestingly, my date of birth is 7th September. 7 is the date of birth and 9th is the month.
+ So my name is my date of birth.

Okay let’s start quickly my other silly-billy calculations. Mind it; I’m very bad in Maths subject but pretty innovative in reckoning. Yeshh…and you will see that below..

So let’s start with basic the Alphabets….

ABCDEFGHI
123456789
JKLMNOPQR
101112131415161718
STUVWXYZ
1920212223242526

I have just give simple each letter a chronically number according to the sequence in comes.

Now let’s take the word most remembered, spoken and written off.

  • LOVE -It is a four letter word which have touched every little humble heart and soul.
L-O-V-E = 12 + 15 + 22 + 5 = 54

  • Now let’s do it for FRIENDSHIP..
Another word yet larger than just a kind word…something that portrays care, concern, affection and love among each person

F-R-I-E-N-D-S-H-I-P = 6 + 18 + 9 + 5 + 14 + 4 + 19 + 8 + 9 + 16 = 108

Let’s take this 54 of Love and 108 friendship as a percentage, so 54 percent and 108 percent.

  • Interestingly have you noticed that friendship is just the double of Love…
~ Just like Love + Love = Friendship 54+54 = 108
Isn’t it so true that in real life, friendship is too just larger than any kind of relationship! Indeed, love cannot exist without friendship and sure friendship is an inevitable blessing.

Sure you have now a reason to say and believe that friendship is truly important for you and you sure care for your friends. Friends are the one whom you choose to be part and true pat of your life and perhaps an extended chosen family of yours.

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like love. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. ~ C.S. Lewis quotes
~ Indeed, True friendship gives value to everything that exists.
~ The readers who have been following this blog for sometime must be aware of my art, that is created under the name of rachi creations..
  • Now let crack down RACHI CREATIONS..
RACHI = 18 + 01 + 03 + 08 + 09 = 39
CREATIONS = 03 + 18 + 05 + 01 + 20 + 09 + 15 + 14 + 19 = 104

~ RACHI CREATIONS = 39 + 104 = 143

  • No doubt that the passion I follow in rachi creations..is dedicated for my friends, close ones, family and for my loved ones.
  • 143 clearly and definitely defines that… truly madly deeply ~ I Love you :)

So how do you find all such interlinks. Do you also have some interesting connections and interwoven with such numbers or alphabets…Share with us. Let’s go back to high school and have some fun and creative twists.

mom and Me - Born Bond

~ Below is the personal love letter for the person who is the most generous, genuine and giving in nature. Here, I dedicate this one post of the blog for the person whose personal pleasures, time and energy of life had been devoted for me. Kindly spare your ten minutes in reading this letter which is really worth!
Born Bond~(C)~Geetali Pradhan

~ "Youth fades, love droops, the leaves of friendship fall;
a Mother's secret hope outlives them all." ~
Oliver Wendell Holmes

Dearest Mommy!

~ When I was in your womb, enjoying indirectly the curd and tomato salad you ate, I knew I was coming to be in a healthy family. I was definitely blessed! You brought me to this earth with so much of pain yet made my life simply painless.

~ When I was six months old, you liked dressing me in a nice bright pink frill frock with matching socks and shoes. You made me look like an angel. Perhaps the only time I looked so cute and a true angel.

~ When I was three years old, you feed me with your own hands the rajma-chawal with lots of ghee into it. I was developing my tastes to the wondrous food you made. You made me surprised every time to make food with same taste, flavors and aroma. Perhaps with love you make and serve the food is beyond the doubt so incredibly delicious and divine just like you are!

~ When I was five, I had my few choices in food and made faces when you cooked green vegetables. But you made sure I ate them to get all the needed vitamins.
Perhaps, then I learnt you were a typical dedicated mother who can run with the bowl of rice behind the kid for hours and still not feel tired.

~ When I was six, I didn’t like to get up in the morning and moreover didn’t like going school. I used to roll into my bed under the bed cover.
But then you used to come to me inside the bed cover, hugged me, cuddled and played with me for next five minutes. Latter slowly whispered into my ears to get up as you had packed my favorite sandwich into the Tiffin-box. And guess what I used to get up soon. Indeed, mom you were elegantly too smart and knew me so well.

~ When I was seven, I participated in the running race in the school sport day event. You came to cheer me but I could not make it that hundred meters race. I was sad and very upset.
But then you said that
“same race-concept applies to life too. Don’t you get despair and get carried away in the failure. Though coming last in race you made it last longer as you ran so well till end. You are true sportsman and so live up that spirit.”
Perhaps only than I understood, the participation was more important and just winning. And there I learnt my first basic lesson of the life taught my mom!

~ When I was nine and going to school, you came to pick me up. I remember you talking to my class-teacher. I was so scared if teacher told you about my mischief in the classroom and you might just scold me latter. Though you knew, I was a kid and a naughty one too; you took patience to explain me the things that embarrassed you to hear about me. I remember that day when I became class-monitor and you were so happy to see me lead! Perhaps you explanation drives me to my best of the expectation.

~ When I was ten, I enjoyed playing with my friends’ everyday after returning from the school. One day when a boy (my classmate) teased me, I came running to you and you willingly supported me and readily scolded the boy for making me sad. Perhaps latter you did explain me with good grace that fighting and patching up with friends is the part of good friendship. Ever since than you became my best friend.

~ When I was twelve, I was asked by you to participate in all the cultural activities in the school. You made all the efforts to help and guide me for those programs.You wanted me to look the best in the group. Hence you persistently made some extra effort by coming with me to the shop to buy all the craft works and the dress needed in the program. I realized, you were my best cheerleader and wanted me to understand the core behind the perfection. Indeed, I realized then that each minute of perfection was worth the effort you made, when I won the first prize in the poem recitation.

~ When I was fifteen, I was studying in the room during weekend. You came with the (besan) chickpeas flour paste mixed with honey. You dipped your palms in the paste and rubbed gently on my face. I wondered why!
The next bizarre day you came with the curd and cream then rubbed on my head even each hair strands.

Mom, I knew well that I was your sweetheart darling daughter, but you turned me into sweet darling dessert with missing red cheery on my head :P

Till then I used to drink glass of milk twice a day to get proper nutrition but since you thought I was a dessert, you made me apply raw milk on my face too every morning, to get instant glow. Phew!
You called me into the kitchen to teach me how to make dough; I thought you must be kidding though.
You wanted me to learn many more household things. However never took my help and did your things sincerely. Conceivably I was then just fifteen.

Looking at you I understood the basic ethics of being a mom of the daughter child.

~ When I was seventeen, you took me to the shopping. We had lots of fun and ate ice cream. I found your negotiating skills while buying things in the market. No shop keeper could fool you around. You were tough yet charming with your apt market price analysis. In market you never compromised. Though you comprised and settled for the best.

Finally you bought me few salwar-suits and told me that this suits me the best. I hated this very thought of yours, though I understood the apt concern behind your act. Eureka! I was growing up!

Perhaps, I understood, being a mom/woman is not easy living with.. so many quick correct decisions making, further responsibilities and constraint constantly rushing into mind.

~ When I was eighteen, you shared your biggest crush story and asked mine. I had my long list of people and you had only one to still sublime. Astonishingly, I discovered your crush was Amitabh Bachchan!(Click Here) Gimme a break mom!

When it rained you dragged me outside in the rain, we together felt breeze and together enjoyed each raindrop on our skin. I knew then that you were not just my mom, my best friend but also you were as joyous as being a virtual sister of mine.

~ When I was twenty two, I was going for higher studies and moved to the hostel life. You knew I would feel hungry at mid-night so you prepared so many snacks, wrapped safely and kept without my knowledge into my bag. You hugged me and only said take care! You missed me badly but never showed. You pretended to be strong hearted, though you are very soft and sensitive at core.
I know mummy, you have been more geared to understand and focused in making best choices to our personal lives. Hence you have ability to make hard calls when needed yet balance to uphold.

Till now,
~YOU always bought things I LIKED,
~ cooked the food I LIKED,
~ watched the television serial I LIKED and
~ YOU even wore the dress on occasions that I LIKED
~ You devoted all you choices to me. And only a Mothers’ could do so.

~ You made coffees and milk shakes at odd times for making me to study little more a while.
“Concentrate to study and don’t you sleep on books, Girl!” You said to uplift my mood! And we together giggled. ~ Somehow,you always had strong instincts to know what was behind the closed doors and blocked thoughts :)

~ You prepared snacks and tit-bits for my friends when invited at home.
You welcomed and treated them with the same sweet love and hub of warmth.
You are a true natural nurturant. And ability to connect with everyone comes with ease. Compassionate thought without compare has been your natural traits.

~ When I was giving my exams of studies or personal life, you were the one who was constantly praying for me. I know you prayed God to pass me with good results and you also prayed to pass all my worries and troubles to you. I came out with glorious rainbow colors and all praise goes to you and only You!

~ The green leafy vegetables you cooked that I hated the most in my childhood, today staying far ~when I am twenty six, I tend to ask the same recipes on phone everyday. I often miss the chicken curry you prepared every Sundays.

Though I call it being stylish but miss the oil in my head that you added and massaged to relax me so well. You brush away the tangles from my hair, yet also the tangles of my life!

Me & Mom
I love your care, composure, your completeness.
The strength, the power the dignity you reflect.
Your hand’s tenderness in warmth is paramount.
The character you have shown..
...in you moves is mounting at infinite.
I’m proud to owe you, Mom!
Your humble voice makes my pain vanish,
The choices you make,
Decisions you take,
And the courage you bear!

Mom & ME
I love when you smile and cook.
I love the way you look.
For the long journey made in the time travel,
Take me into your arms and let me sleep sound.
Let me be a kid for the moment again sitting in your lap;
Let the ticking time stops right there,
You believe in me beyond horizon.
You’re compassionate being passionate.
You sight off my imperfections.
To teach ME the best has been your only ultimate mission!

For me you are multiple skill sets, handling tasks with perfections. You have managed the time, resources, money, emotions, relationships and ME so well.
You are the best chef, best nutritionist, best beautician, best cheerleader, best teacher, best Human Resource Manager (...perhaps how can we ignore, the charm you carry in the way, you challenge Paa to run at your commands!)

Indeed, YOU been the best mom and perhaps the best woman, ever have influenced ME so much and yet I am competing to be the Best like you!

Love you so much for everything!
~ I'm so glad that I share my DNA with You :)

Your loving Daughter;
Umi :)

a lifetime journey from Bombay to Mumbai

[Today being the Republic Day, I'm here sharing a is the true story based on the personal eventual life experience. Read the post patiently as the details in between is important to grasp for understanding the ultimate edge and twist of the tale present at the end. Kindly bear this as long post.]

I was a happy child barely ten years old, always painting and dancing around. To go school and to play were acts in the list of the standard routine I had to do daily just like any other child.

We were staying in Baroda, Gujarat. My uncle who was working in Bombay then (named as Mumbai now) invited us on the Diwali vacation to spend the time together with his family.

Preferably all arrangements were made to go but as my father had few projects at the dot line, so he decided to join us latter directly at Bombay.

Consequently, I with my mom went alone to Bombay in the train. I remember it was not my first visit to the city however it was the first trip to this city through the train. Earlier than this trip we visited Bombay in car and that drive was totally different. It was interesting because of its magnificent stopover in between at the day time. Perhaps this being an overnight journey we had no option but to sleep early in the train.

However, next day early morning we reached safely and found my uncle waiting on the platform for us. He came to receive us, hence there was no more worrying on our side

I and my uncle share a very close affectionate bond always. Though he loves me like his little daughter but treats me as his best buddy ever since my childhood. Hence my inclination and fondness for him has been always there. In addition to this, I owe some of my best moments and memories of life with him.
My stay and vacation at Bombay was a great time spent all together. It was a complete delight for me being a little girl. I made as many as my friends with the neighboring children and played merely all the time.

One fine day, my uncle told me that he will take me tomorrow to his Office for a small visit. I was too excited and keen to go to watch his Office and his workings.

Next day I woke up early with the excitement and got ready quickly. I wore my favorite cream color frill-skirt and soon followed by having done the heavy breakfast, we hurried to catch the train. We changed two local trains, one bus and one auto rickshaw to reach the destination.
Running entirely to catch the train was just a first lesson of the day! Wow!! I was realizing the rush and dust of the city. Traveling at Bombay is by itself an experience. And having said that all it was also a real big and busy day of my life to realize how hard all throughout the day my dear uncle works. Perhaps, after lots of physical activity, we reached the Office.

I can still recall that he used to spend almost 12 hours everyday working and the traveling time was separate to be counted. Nevertheless, I never saw him losing his smile, a definite genuine smile! He was in the Hospitality Industry and he knew that well. He worked at Juhu Centaur Hotel (today the hotel is known as the Tulip Star Hotel).

I was very much fascinated to see the big hotel. It was tall and spectacle patterned building standing firm. In early nineties, this Juhu Centaur Hotel was one of the finest and most popular reputed hotels. I had seen the visitors’ side, the glamorous luxurious well-furnished angle of the hotel. This was my second visit to the hotel, however it was the first time I was allowed to go through the staff-gate.

After security check, I entered the hotel with my uncle through the staff-gate. The first thing I noticed were those white chef coats dressed man with huge chef caps on their head. Although people were just rushing here and there, yet they never forget to greet each other with an integral smile.
Many of them came to my uncle, said “Good Morning”, followed by “Hello” to me. And I simply loved that moment of the day.

Then, my uncle took me straight away in the main kitchen at the bakery & patisserie room. I still bear in mind the moment I came into the aura of the Bakery, I could smell the sweet strong scent of the vanilla, and no sooner my mouth was full of water. As he opened the door of the room and we walked in, I realize that I was standing around the cakes, pastries and chocolates. It was a complete delight place for a ten years old small girl, who was a core lover of chocolate.

Chef who made My Birthday Cakes

My uncle told the other chef present there, that I was his niece. My uncle had some work, so he left me in the bakery room.
This Chef was busy doing icing on the cakes, and this was first time I was noticing that this man definitely was unbeatable in his talent of doing so swift yet subtle and beautiful icing on the cakes, making delicate flowers all around. He was simply supreme at his work.
Suddenly, I heard him saying, “Rachana, you would love to eat pastry, choose from here.”
I got shocked to see that he knew my name somehow. Without answering him, I questioned him back in a most cute and humble voice, “How do you know my name uncle?”

He took a quick look at me with a modest curve on his lips and said something that I could not forget till date and feel so humbled for his gestures. He said, "I know you and your name too as I’m the one who make cake for you every year on your birthday in September."
Wow, that was just too little much for me to hear and cherish forever.
Yeah, how could I forget that every year, my loving uncle came my birthday, making an over-night journey in train from Bombay to Baroda! He used to come with a huge cake-box in his hand, protecting it from the rainy splash; perhaps my birthday comes in the peak of the rainy season. I still cherish, the moment when I used to wake up in the morning hearing his voice. He used to be the first one in the morning to HUG me and wish me “Happy Birthday”. Quickly than I used to run to see in the refrigerator to check the design of the cake he had brought, which used to be made just that same evening before catching up the train.

And apparently that cake was made by, this brilliant Chef!

In the mean time, my uncle came back to take me and by then I had already relish a lovely black-forest pastry. I did not know that my uncle had taken an optional holiday before Diwali festival and had come to hotel only to complete urgent some paper work. Certainly I was thoroughly enjoying, the discovering and the learning opportunity with him to see the operation management working successful right through.

He then took me to his boss office too.
His boss office was quite far and we had to walk a lot. For me it was great moment as I was simply thrilled to see the happening around. Huge vessels, and somewhere in the corner people were doing some flambé, some people pulling big trolleys loaded with fruits…the things to discovery were plenty at every single foot step. We went through many short cuts, went from the behind doors of the conference hall, banquet halls and there came one restaurant too.

We covered together few stairs more, and I realized entering into a very weird place. Weird as I perceived a peculiarly creepy and unbelievable sight. I noticed abruptly the hall which was all shaded in black, there were curtains half burnt, a red carpet burnt in patches, furniture completely destroyed and burnt and all around there were glass and mirror pieces scattered. Also I noticed a yellow tape string running over to divide and avoid entering the other side of the tape. This tape was at the both sides of the walking path, from where we were passing by. Capturing the havoc looking scene around, I could not resist the confusion and asking him, “What happened here, Uncle?”
He promptly replied my query and said, ‘Nothing, an accident took place. A gas cylinder busted sometime here.'
Yeah! It looked very much like that. I understood that and moved on.

Soon we reached, to my uncle’s boss cabinet. His boss seemed very much warm hearted and there too I was completely pampered with chocolates. No wonder, he knew me too, as he had read all my letters and seen the self hand-made greeting-cards sent to my uncle from me.
I was in a way surprised to see and discover the bond being shared between each staff member of the hotel.
Evidently it was day to learn many lessons of the challenging life

Time rolled on and I grew up. But the spark and spirit of the Hospitality Industry people made a sure huge impression over me, because of which I could not resist to joining Institute of Hotel Management over MBBS after class 12.
If someone asks my opinion, I hardly find any difference that exists between the people working in hotel and other working in Hospital. Perhaps, both the persons come under the same category of the hospitality industry and their purpose is to serve.
Nevertheless, the awesome participation of the staff members of the Taj and Oberoi hotel on the 26/11, have been remarkably acclaimed and shall be cherished throughout the history.

OK Back to the story line!

Years passed and months fluttered…since my most memorable visit at the Centaur Hotel made, countless changes have been taken place. The name and the ownership of the hotel changed from Centaur Hotel to Tulip Star Hotel. Astonishingly the name of the city has also changed since then. The city Bombay renamed as Mumbai.
Yet the sparkling attractions of the city owing to charm of the celebrities, amending hard-working people, huge festivals, sea, merging culture, and bounce back attitude still exits to add up the spice in the spirit of the city.

Years latter, I was doing my MBA. I was no more a kid but the lasting memories of childhood always existed making me cheerful. Perhaps, I considered myself fortunate to have been able to experience the best in early stage of life, adding to my awareness. This was the forth and final semester of the course. And by then my age was 22!

It was almost the winding time of the college and only exams were left to give a shot. In between there was a huge study leave. So there is no more attending the lectures, no more working late nights on the projects, no more to make the PPT. We friends had enough time to go out the campus and have lots of fun in and out of the hostel.

Perhaps, study-leave does not mandatory states only to study, I guess! And the matter of the fact is that study-leave is the best time to enjoy a lot of life at the fullest. Interestingly I utilized my study-leave at the best ;)

My friends suggested watching the movies for a change during the break. Well the movies not just any but the movies of substance. The movies which were critically appreciated Oscar award nominated or the one which had fetched some good acclaimed awards in protecting the best stories.

We brought everyday one cd on rent and saw a huge list of movies like, Pursuit of Happiness, Little Miss Sunshine, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Black, Page 3, Gladiator, Shoot Out at Lokhandwala, Company, Water and…Black Friday…

It was May 2007 and we were watching the Black Friday movie on the computer of my roommate. We made the room dark, pulling back the curtains to experience the perfect effect. Now adjusting the volume and the movies runs smoothly.

One who is not familiar with the movie Black Friday; let me tell you very briefly few facts of the movie as follows:
This movie is based on the true story based on the Bombay bombings which were in a series of 13 bomb explosions that took place in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India on March 12, 1993. The coordinated attacks were the most destructive bomb explosions in Indian history. The single-day attacks resulted in up to 250 civilian fatalities and 700 injuries. The evidence uncovered pointed to the involvement of underworld D-Company, This movie is based on Black Friday - The True Story of the Bombay Bomb Blasts, a book by S. Hussain Zaidi, the film is made by Anurag Kashyap as an attempts to recreate those events and the intense feelings that followed them. It won the Grand Jury Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and was a nominee for the Best Film (Golden Leopard) award at the Locarno International Film Festival. Black Friday was not released in Indian theaters for 2 years, as on the eve of its release, a petition seeking a stay was filed by the people named in the film, the alleged perpetrators of the crime. Since the verdict was still pending. British director Danny Boyle has cited Black Friday as an inspiration for his 2008 award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Boyle stated that a chase in one of the opening scenes of Slumdog Millionaire was based on a "12-minute police chase through the crowded Dharavi slum" in Black Friday.
The story proceeded at the mid way, describing the conspiracy of planting the bombs at different parts of the city Bombay (Mumbai). As I had already visited the city couple of times and hence was very much aware of most the places stated in the movie. This made much easier to follow and see simultaneously the story line.
  • Locations attacked are as follows:
Fisherman's Colony in Mahim causeway; Zaveri Bazaar; Plaza Cinema;Century Bazaar; Katha Bazaar; Hotel Sea Rock; Plaza Theatre; Lucky Petrol; Worli; Santa Cruz; Area opposite of Century Bazaar; Passport Office; Bombay Stock Exchange Building; Sahar Airport; Air India Building Hotel Centaur and Hotel Juhu Centaur;

~~~```````````Hotel Juhu Centaur!!
It took me a set back for couple of minutes. The feeling was awful, maybe because of my very salient personal and emotional attachment with the place. It was more than 13 years, but my feeling still strongly intact to the Hotel Juhu Centuar. I could no more see the movie which was depicting the forms of destroy and despair in the city and apparently in the Centaur Hotel.
The movie got over, leaving a tiny tear slipping my cheek. There was a strange feeling lingering the soul. That whole night I kept wondering the scary scenes and the whole conspiracy. The movies is so well made that one might just feel like believing as if the things are happening right there in front of the eyes live.
Next morning, after the terrific turmoil, I all alone decided to watch the movie ones again. Forwarding and slipping few strong scenes. There was again the same thing that hocked my attention.
I watched much keenly the same scene of planting the bombs in the city.
Hotel Juhu Centaur …#..*…! Echoed in my head badly !!!!..........!!!!!!
There was a sudden pause in my thinking, a strange vacuum in my thoughts and here was a flash. In the micro second my brain started analyzing and speculating the things, making a bit difficult to grasp it.
I recalled the burnt curtain…burning patch in carpet…smoky walls…fully blown window mirrors…That was not the cylinder busting accident, I doted!
Conceivably the year, I went to spend my Diwali vacation at Mumbai…perhaps it was the same year, 1993…
My uncle could not tell the truth to his niece, considering the humble age to understand anything in between the context. Correctly, accurately and barely I was only ten years old then.
It has been the most conflicting moment of my life to understand and accept the fact after 13 years; I got to know the daunting truth which left back an irreversible scare. I’ve seen plenty of things in my life that had a disturbing impact. None stand out as much as this one moment provided by a bizarre twist of fate flash that shook my soul forever. This incident of my life made me more empathetic and compassionate towards the life. Probably, this incident was also one more reason to have my heart pound and bleed badly looking at the 26/11 live for 72hours.
The bomb-planter at the Juhu Centaur hotel took bomb in the suitcase. He got arrested and faces a maximum punishment of life imprisonment by the court. I have found a link to his real confessional statement about the steps and procedures carried in bomb planting at Hotel Juhu Centaur, injuring three persons and causing a damage of Rs 2.1 crore to the building.  You will be amazed to read his quotes. Please go through this LINK toooo.
Note:
  • I want to humbly thank, Madhulika who suggested us to watch the movies.
  • Nupur for her computer being used to watch the movie.
  • Heartily thanks to my uncle .R. who gave me an opportunity to visit the internal hotel, which added so much of experience to my life.
  • Anurag Kashyap, for making such a heart-felt movie which holds the true extract and litmus test of the historical incident reflection.
  • And Thank you Readers for your constant support..Love Yeah!
My Blog My Bond My Blogger
...here's
wishing
Blogger 10th Happy Birthday!
There is still a lot to learn & grow
with Blogger..
Here, we all are celebrating Blogger’s 10th birthday and I mull over the beginning of MY Blogging.
Over 2 complete years blogging and Blogger became so significantly phenomenal part of my life.
I still remember the day when I first logged into the world of blogs through the Google into blogger. I was studying MBA and my final year going on. Total stress simply one day made me write into the blog titling it Humming Today. “Humming Today” reflected the best thoughts of my mind during that hour.
My first post, where I have clearly mentioned that I was here only to “to explore..inspire..and aspire....I ME MYSELF”.
Until then I had no idea that my blog shall be indeed absolutely titled as humming today and people over 136 countries shall be visiting my blog.
Honestly, in the beginning I had no idea of what I shall do or will I get stick to writing a blog. All I could do was to post few games which have readymade HTML form. After I completed my studies, I got married and shifted to a new place. It was only than I thought; writing was something I could do to kill-time.
It took hard to speculate, what would I write that would interest people. And only latter I realized Blog has to be written for self discovery first and the entertainment shall follow the rest. I wrote what I loved to. Personal Experiences, Short Stories, sharing my paintings were the first cum thing to post. Slowly, I understood the rare pulse of writing the blog.
Also then it was a time to explore my own skills and share them at the best on the Blogger. Being a Hotel Management Graduate, writing about the food came easily for me. I shared my mother’s recipes with systematic presentation of pictures so that people find it much easy to read and follow.
Blogging also gave a second way to get connected with my very talented friends. I asked my friends to share and contribute this blog their photographs, recipes, articles etc. I also made friends by posting comments to others blog, getting inspired and appreciating their works. In all I started brushing up my own knowledge and skills. Blogging also gave me absolute confidence to share with world, my thoughts and feelings in form of MY Strong Story over different issues.
While having an urge to enhance the looks to make more personalized blog-page, I also gradually started learning HTML formulas, which have been very new and challenging for me. Perhaps this change could have been done only on Blogger. It gives us the chance to learn and claim.
I never took it’s as a craving feeling to make a mark in blogging. However, Blogging is what I wanted and had a strong desire for inspiration and aspiration.
Its is indeed a pride feeling to know that just looking at my blog I found few of my friends also started blogging on Blogger recently. Now this is a sure celebration and achievement for me and indirectly for Blogger too.
Sometimes I feel that I have been born in the best era, as I got this opportunity to blog. I knew from the beginning of my blogging that there were many others sites where blogging could be done. But when I saw Blogger, instantly I found Blogger to be inevitably user’s friendly. I have observed many little changes and enhancement made in the Blogger in the recent times. Which made me feel more confident, secured, still completely intact with me and my bond-my blog-my blogger.
Moreover, Blogger Help forum and Google experts are just one key hit away to check and advise us in no time. I heartily appreciate and acknowledge their presence. Hence, I have no worries!
My journey where there is unparallel pleasure due to blogging would have not been possible without Blogger. There is still a lot to learn and grow with Blogger.
Here’s wishing Blogger its 10 unrivalled years of compassion and success!
my Birthday - age Reminder
Birthdays are always special because people make your feel that. For me completing 9 has been very special as, I knew from now onwards I shall never have that single digit number. And yes! This two/double digit shall always be attached to my age. Then among this double digit, 16 was so interesting. Being in a teenage and often believed the age as the most beautiful time of any girl’s life.
For me the milestone was when I was a certified adult and 18. I could get my driving license and could vote. But sadly 18 is remembered passing out the school. In a way, calling off the childhood days, the fun days.
Of course by then with the growing up phenomenon I was clearly aware that asking a woman her age was a serious crime. It’s almost like looking inside the purse of a girl without her knowledge or almost like going beyond her dignity. Next I considered my 25 as the most special on of all, as believed it was like celebrating my Silver Jubilee of life.
I am today 26 find it a genetic blessing that even today people sometimes asking me which school/college do I study. I eat whatever I want without any significant weight gain and no subject of verification still look the same as I was years back. Hence, so far had no problem in answering the questions asked about the Age. Perhaps, I wish to feel same (Happy) even when I am at 30, 35 or at 52.
Here, I wish and hope in coming years, I am much careless about the number of the grey hairs or wrinkles on my face. As they to be believed signs of experience, pride moments, the rich journey of celebrations I made throughout the life span. Sometimes, there are people may not want to acknowledge the new age, they like to remain young. But then how can one forget the quote of the famous artist, Pablo Picasso that "It takes along time to Grow Young".
I’m born on 07th September, 1983. How old am I today..?
And a reply comes “As old as you feel.” Or “16 does that makes you happy..huh..”
Nostalgia isn't strictly an age thing. Like, when I say “I wish, I was 10, 16 or 18 again, it's not just the age, I want to be back in the Time-Period where I was that old too.”
Perhaps this is the reason, I keep in touch with some of mine childhood, school days, college days friends as it’s only those people who knew me how I was in certain age and know my experiences, turning points the best, which certainly have brought changes into my life and thoughts.
Blowing out the candles from the cake has been the most important act of the day. "I won't forget the chocolate cake," my chachu(uncle) brought in my childhood, whose sweet divine strong smell still lingers my mind till date. Such chocolate cake reminds me of my young age…Of coarse I’m not that old but yeah! It reminds me of much younger times :)
Yet, this is the reason I say sometimes, just sometimes, a number is truly just a number.
Happy Birthday ME..
My Birthday - unfolding petals
Surprise at 25th Birthday© rachi creations..
Regardless of the increasing age, birthdays are a special day for you and your loved ones. Some friends of mine teased me saying that why am I making all the gaga-story of my 25th birthday, as I am getting older every year. But, there is a strange saying I believe in is “Old age is always 15 years older than I am”, so celebrate life at the fullest. Above all if we carry our childhood with us, we shall never become older.
Indeed yesterday, I had a blast on my birthday. Lots of gifts and greetings simply added the glitters to the special day. For a change not cooking at all at home(which I usually I hardly do :p) and having Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner out was a great of fun with hubby. In the evening blowing candles on chocolate cake is the ultimate pleasure on birthday. But of coarse the most adorable gift of the day was reading the friends messages on Orkut and receiving loads of phone call, for the birthday wishes. One of my very close friends of mine Nirmala, mailed me her wedding ceremony pictures as my birthday surprise gift, for which I was waiting since so long. Truly sweet of her.
But some coincidence happened on my birthday and I found the mail delivered in my inbox. It was completely unexpected and truly amazing experience to read the mail. Please read the mail mentioned below:
My Birthday Weekend - just Began
Just to let everyone, but today, Sunday a Holiday and I’m off flying high for my birthday weekend. Today is the Silver Jubilee of my life. I shall turn 25 at exactly 10:10 at night. That was the time I was born and my Mother loves to remind me. She also reminds me every year of when, where, what, why, and how I was born. Truly sweet of Her.
Today, is the day which naturally reminds me of some of the most special people of my life, who made this day more memorable and hence special for me.Right from the beginning of my childhood memory lane goes how my parents managed to celebrate my birthday almost like a festival of the year. All around the home colorful ribbons and decoration made a home a total different place to live in. My Grand-Mother used to bring colorful bangles for me on my birthday to match with my new birthday dress.
Birthday has always been a special fine day, when I used to wait for the amazing things to be gifted by my parents. I remember, on my tenth birthday I got my “Avon Cycle” .Mummy-Papa brought it from the market, tied at the diggy, back of the car. It was indeed the happiest day of my life. One my sweet sixteenth birthday I got my first Laptop (IBM) in my hands. These were some of the most memorable gifts got in my childhood on my birthday.
My birthday (7th September) also reminds me of my Raju Chachu (parental uncle), who used to stay in Mumbai and bring home personally prepared cake traveling over night in train from Mumbai to Baroda. Blowing candles and cutting cake in the party with all the friends, neighbors, relatives and parents around, made me felt “Yeah! This is My Day”. But my uncle’s presence made my birthday party and day so special.
Waking up in the birthday morning and finding so many relatives at home came from far places just to bless me on my birthday was a great feeling. Some had to really take up so much pain coming home fully drenched, as my birthday being in the Month of September; it always rained heavily that day. In my childhood, I had to never buy new clothes whole year, rather during my birthday I used to get so many new dresses and other gifts from the relatives.Everyone is amazing and I love them dearly.
Going SCHOOL not in uniform but in the very new crisp colored birthday dress was the ultimate pleasure. Distributing chocolates it to all my classmates and teachers in the school was another attraction.It was sometimes amazing to see that other some classmates or schoolmates also had birthday on that same day.
Then came in COLLEGE and celebrating the birthday had another heights. The birthday party at college hostel have total different scene. The SMS beeps and several mid-nite calls at the 00:00 from friends were great fun. Dancing late nights on full volumes were very much the hostel way of celebrating birthday party. Some close friends also made sure to give me greeting cards and other birthday gifts, actually the gift were the same things that I wished to buy sometime but dint buy, and here they were giving me a total surprise ofcoarse as they became father-mother only when I was born.
All around people wishing you,Happy Birthday!..Happy Birthday!!”;I simply loved it! Going out on lunch, giving all close friends small treats were great ways to rejoice.
Last Year 2007, my birthday was first birthday after marriage. I was far away from all, my parents, friends, relative and all. But my Ravi Mamaji (maternal uncle), came here B’lore far from Baroda just to wish me Happy Birthday. And my Hubby made sure to have fun on my birthday. He took us to an amusement park. Although missing everybody that day, I had great fun being adventurous playing in water fountains. I almost felt like a kid again and he definitely made me feel amazing.
When it rains on my Birthday, I feel as if God is showering the blessing on me. Same, I felt when I got married last year 23rd July 2007. Rain has become such an intrigue part of my life. So my birthday has been amazing always more because of the drizzling and showers.
I definitely want to thank my Maa-Paa and friends for making this such an Incredible Birthday for me. Thank you to everyone who has wished me a Happy Birthday on Orkut and through other mails. And also the people who could not call me but did remember me on my birthday:)
. I have so much to be thankful for the last 25 years. Its also an amazing year as this very date on 12th July 2008, my paa celebrated his Golden Jubilee of Life.
I’m 25, celebrating the Silver Jubilee of my life, a quarter century old and I’m proud
But I firmly like to believe that my Papa and Mom are also 25 yrs old
I also want to thank my Hubby for being there and making each moment so special. I’m sure he must have planned something today also. Till now it is a surprise. I can’t really wait until the sun rises or rains this morning Sunday. There is more fun still waiting for me. My Birthday Weekend has just began.
But I shall leave this post with my deep feeling in form of Pria's poem "Child”, depicts best of my Birthday fumes with a typical touch of Virgo quality. To the people who don't know, my sunsign is Virgo. It almost seems as in the poem “She” is “ME” talking of my childhood, month of September and my birthday bash.
-
" Trees and flowers filled with water
on a rainy day,
She sees herself in those dew drops
picturing herself before the mirror,
a small world to see who she is.
When the train passes, flowers bend
to welcome all
and sprinkle with new fragrance.
With the smell of wet soil
she waits for the raindrops
to fill the potholes
where she can step in to jump.
Ther comes a splash of water and dust
all over her
and she runs again to find
clear water to wash her legs.
She's a flower, waiting for the rain
with a small ponytail, and her skirt
filled with daisies
jumping and walking, nothing
to worry in this world.
She is a child, a girl and a woman
who lives a life of innocence."-
Leos of MY Life
© 21st Century Tiger
The symbol for the sunsign Leo is the Lion. They are strong-willed, walk with pride, loves growling tends to be mushy almost like cute small lion cubs. Their major traits are being born leaders and highly focused at the target. They are generous, kind, extremely supportive and protective people. There are many people we come across our life but there are very few who last for life-long. And those are titled as dear friends, who are there for you and with you supporting. They believes in you and are willing to trust you at any circumstance. I have always believed  that it’s wonderful to have few close friends as they remind you how you were in your young age. These friends know all your secretes and the inner most thoughts. "I can be simply just ME with them without bothering what they will think about me." This allows exploring thyself more at every aspect.
At different stages of my life, I found friends, who got so much close to me and surprisingly I realised they were Leos! Their influences have been so positively intense and have been my aspiration. Here remembering the Leos of My Life and wishing them Happy Birthday.
Tanushree Baishya :
Birthday: 13th August.
I know this lady since our school days. We have done our education together in KV(IOC), Noonmati, Guwahati, Assam. We studied together from ClassVIII to XII. Those were the wonderful years and the most memorable times of my life, the "Teen Age” when we together with other friends had so much fun and creating menace in the school with our teachers and above all seniors. After completing our schooling we opted different careers and hence choose different lines of higher studies. But we often during our college vacations made sure to hang out with our other close friends and talk like hell! I like to call her "TWINNY" , as in school many people often got confused in identifying between two of us. May be it’s because we had almost similar hairstyle, same uniform and quite a same body structure. But in reality we are very much different.
She is bold with a gentle touch, which makes her so special. Her honesty not just defines her personality but portraits her Brain. Who says ! She forces people to appreciate her and give compliments because I strongly believe that ones you see her, compliments for her comes very naturally to you . She is an absolute divine beauty with brains.
No one in this small world is born who can win in argument with this LEO because she does her Homework well and in advance. And how can one forget that she have been always a rank holder.
As well definition goes from one of her friend "This is one girl (Tanushree) who has been with me, rejoicing with me in my success and consoling & supporting me whever I was low..." is having a same opinion like me.
Even though I haven’t met her since last three years, but I still feel same warmth, affection, care, trust, and above all hear the long Lectures Session. Tanushree, the Leo Lady has made us all proud with her works, deed, strength and love she shares.
I wish you all the happiness and success in life and may you achieve whatever you desire for. Moreove she reminds me of the qoute , "With clothes the new are best, with friends the old are best."
Amit Semwal :
Birthday: 19th August.
This Creature is also a LEO. I know him from past three years. We first meet during our interview for MBA at IITTM,Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Infact, we were in the same group for the group discussion. He made blunder after blunders during the whole event with senior and with the teachers but was still smiling. He is the only person in this world who acts stupid yet smart simultaneously. Well these traits are of Genius. By this time reading, he must have toppled down the chair laughing and holding his stomach. But buddy amit, get up, as I simply mean it, all above mentioned. I am so proud to be his friend. He is a true inspiration, aspiration and adore his trait of having equal feeling for all as a true Human-Being. When we participated in an art competition, where it was necessary to be in pair, I requested him to accompany me though I had no idea how to deal with the person like him. But when we actually one the first runner up prize the first thought strike my brain was that "We gel well".
He is very supportive but at the same time very much willing to take risks and also drag others to take risks. It’s because he is an innovative man, and making mistakes from the risk taken comes easily to him. His ideas might sound weird instantly but those are indeed the head turner for the society. “My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me”, and fits to the quote so well !
He have so much inspired me ever since I know him. I even wrote a blog for him "THE PHOTOGRAPHER, i captured". May you keep capturing the great pictures and our hearts with you warmth and your innocent smile.
Please, go through the video of the wonderful pictures taken by him in last three years. It is, "Amit in Wonderland". Click here: COLLECTIONS VIDEO.
Bhupesh Koli :
Birthday: 15th August.
He is My hubby is also a Leo and hence I can't exit without appreciating him. He is a typical Leo, flamboyant and generous simultaneously. He has wonderful instant sense of humor. I'm so glad that he can cook, infact cook so well. Sometimes such small things really matter a lot. His been truly a great friend. We tend to have different style in approach of decision-making which makes us highly complementary and effective. The best thing that has happened to me is that he taught me to be less critical and more spontaneous. We have recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary and I realized that after one year,
“He is still that same adorable, sweet guy who treats me better than anyone ever has in my life making me feel so much blessed”.
 Here is the poem dedicated to the Loving Leos of my Life...
POEM - Impossible
by Priya
Free and release your mind
let the world know
what a wonderful person
you are.
Life is to live and rejoice
let that spirit
make you
stay alive
surrounded by love.
I know you like to flirt,
lie and
still capture
my heart, with fluttering eyes
and make me surrender.
I know, I stay faraway
only to let you know
you will always be
in my thoughts.
If you ever shed a tear
think of me
coz to
forget you
is something impossible.
